The Benefits of Workshops and Flexible Learning in a Classroom
Developing children are always changing, ranging from their curiosities, motivations, and learning styles. Having a looser curriculum allows teachers to accommodate their lesson plans based on their students' interests, needs, and concerns.
One method of diversifying a classroom's learning is by implementing different informational and educational workshops based on the student's interests.
In the early 2000s, researchers in New Mexico State wanted to study how students responded to adding peer-led workshops into their classroom in comparison to learning from only lectures. After adding workshops into their curriculum over the course of a few months, students were asked how the change impacted their learning. A strong majority of the students agreed to these statements:
